Dr. Nancy HammondDr. Nancy Hammond

Nancy Hammond completed her undergraduate work at Northwestern University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences in 1973.  She applied to and was accepted into the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at Loyola University of Chicago College of Dentistry in 1974. Upon completion of her graduate program Dr. Hammond spent two years at the Des Moines Health Center practicing public health dentistry.  Dr. Hammond was then accepted into the residency program in pediatric dentistry at the University of Iowa.  She graduated with a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and a Masters of Science. Dr. Hammond has now been a practicing pediatric dentist for more than 30 years. Dr. Hammond went into the pediatric dental field because she wanted to help children learn to cope with the dentist and be relaxed, confident patients! Dr. Hammond’s patient philosophy is that “you can do anything you put your mind to!” In her free time, Dr. Hammond enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loves the summertime and especially Lake Okoboji!

Dr. Hilary ReynoldsDr. Hilary Reynolds

Dr. Hilary Reynolds graduated from Iowa State University in 1998 with her bachelors degree. She then went on to attend University of Iowa Dental School and graduated in 2002. She completed her pediatric dentistry certificate in 2012. Dr. Reynolds practiced as a general dentist in Burlington at the Community Health Center of Southeast Iowa for 8 years prior to returning to the University to complete her pediatric dentistry residency program. She then practiced in a private pediatric dental practice in Burlington for a year before deciding to move back to North Central Iowa. Dr. Hilary Reynolds is a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric dentistry and a member of the AAPD and ADA. Dr. Reynolds patient philosophy is to “provide patient care as I would want it provided to my own children”. In her free time she enjoys house shopping, interior decoration and design and spending time with her husband, Justin and their twin sons, Asher & Brody.

 

Dr. Nicholas BarnardDr. Nick Barnard

Dr. Nicholas Barnard grew up in the Des Moines area and joined Westown Pediatric Dentistry in 2015. He graduated magna cum laude from Drake University with his degree in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology in 2009. Dr. Nick then graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2013. While in dental school, Dr. Nick knew he wanted to continue his education and pursued his specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

While in his two year residency he provided comprehensive care for children of all ages including emergency care, conscious sedation, and treatment in the operating room under general anesthesia. Dr. Nick has a passion for treating children with the highest care. He strives to greet every patient at Westown Pediatric Dentistry with a warm smile.  In his free time he enjoys spending time with his puggle named Bailey, vacationing with friends, or cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Dr. Nick is a member of the ADA, AAPD, and is a new Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He currently has hospital/surgery privileges at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Lakeview Surgery Center in West Des Moines, and Dallas County Hospital in Perry.
